Not a wall flower.

I love art!

I love the impact that art can have on a room. I love art that is bold and defining – Art that isn’t shy!

I particularly love bold art when it fit into the space seamlessly due to its co-ordination with something else in the room: a lamp shade or cushion that matches perfectly.

Aah…its just exciting!

Texture Junkie: Gold and silver digging

Monday, September 1st, 2008

I am a texture junkie.

It is true, I ain’t denying!

In honour of my ‘TJ’ status, I am introducing the first of what will be a regular post series to Designalogue – Texture Junkie!

In these texture junkie posts (I reserve the right for random regularity!),  I will explore -visually -a different texture for different uses!

So I am starting with something that has been on my radar of late: gold and silver leaf, used on walls.

I love it! I love the simplicity and subtle glamour of the effect!

I’m desperate to use it on a project – though got to be the right place to do it justice!

    Pressed metal. Its a thing

    Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

I have been shyly flirting with pressed metal for a few years, seeing it here and there, every know and then.

Recently my flirtations have blossomed and I think I am ready to say the big L word!

I LOVE LOVE Pressed meta! -especially when it is painted.

I think it is such a fabulous way to add interest to a room and give reference to the architecture without detracting from everything else in the space.

Look how fabulous it is in these pictures! – Clearly NYC design firm Diamond Baratta feels the same way i do!

    Fishy Business

    Saturday, August 9th, 2008

I am loving the ‘fishy’ trend that is making an appearance in the interiors and home wares world!

I find the fluidity of the fish form to be relaxing and calming to look at. OK, with exception of the scary sword type fish on pic 3 & 4!
