Dear Designalogue…

Friday, September 26th, 2014

Oh hi Designalogue blog.

Its been a while hasn’t it.

Yeah, sorry I haven’t returned your prompting emails. I’ve been really busy with work & stuff & well…

Its not that I don’t like you anymore. I do. I really do & I think of you often. You have been such a great support to me over the years & introduced me to some really great & interesting people around the world.

Its just, its just well…

Its not you. its me.

ok. truth is I have met something else.

I just feel it gets me. We really click  in a way that I just never clicked with you. I mean we can be spontaneous & even adventurous & well, its just so uncomplicated & Im just free to explore…well what ever and whom ever I want.

We had a good run you & I. I never said this thing of ours would be forever, and Im not saying I wont be back. its just that for now I’m just better matched with Instagram.

Anyway Blog, you can come & visit me whenever you like over there. I post spontaneous pictures of projects I’m working on, eye candy I see in my travels & often have crap loads of spelling mistakes & bad grammar & punctation because I’m excited in the moment.

Truth be told blog, I always felt you were a bit judgey on my spelling mistakes & bad punctuation.

I hope we can still be friends.

You can come & visit me & Instagram over HERE any time.

Oh & now that I can really be honest. Ive always hated the font that the heading you gave me.

House & Garden top 50

Friday, October 4th, 2013

I went to a rather lovely party this week. It was the launch for Australian House & Garden magazines annual top 50 rooms.

The party was held at an event space called Twotonmax in North Melbourne. Its a cool venue that is a blank space that can be frocked up to suit any occasion.

Im not sure who did the styling for this do, but it looked very special with flower garlands & fairy lights suspended overhead which set a great party mood!

This picture was posted on instagram by House & Garden prior to guests arriving. So, before it got messed up!

Surprise surprise – I took a blurry pic of the flower pretties (my title of worst photographer ever isn’t going anywhere quickly!)  But if you squint & tilt your head a little, you can see that it is pretty!

Two large screens projected the images of the rooms that feature in this issue.

& looksee – that is my kitchen project up on the big screen! woohoo! I made the cut for this years top 50 rooms!

And here tis in the glossy pages of the magazine!

My hot date for the evenings celebrations was the lovely Martina Gemmola who was the photographer of my projects picture.

We glam’d ourselves up for the eve & joined the party for a bit of ra ra! Despite me not being in top ra ra form, it was a great night & lovely to meet some of the H&G Sydney team & some designers from interstate who has made the trip down for the do!

This is the second time my work has been included in the top 50, my first being in 2011 for my dining room. See that here .

The November issue hits the shelves on Monday & its a good one!

Its a great honour to be featured, so thank you House & Garden magazine!

Still some finishing details for this project to come -I have custom designed a rug for the living room (can not wait to see it!) and some cool furniture for the entrance too. Its been an exciting project to be involved with as its such a unique space.

Kudos to the architect on this project Robert Miles who designed really great bones for this space. I’d like to think our interior designs & finish choices have enhanced his original vision!

Bold happenings

Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

Well hello once again! or, welcome if this is your first time in this particular blogs hood!

Thought I would share a couple of  pictures of a recent project that I had photographed.  Its a music room for a young family & as you can see they aren’t afraid of living with colour!

Look-see at the handblown glass pendant light we had made for the project:

So there you have it! It was such a pleasure to work on this project! My clients (the loveliest people you could meet) had an idea of what they wanted for the space which was bold & colourful.  I dont think you can say its not either of those!

Thank you once again to the fabulous Martina Gemmola for beautiful photos!

See you back here soon! I have some INCREDIBLE news to share soon of a project I have been working on – its the kind of project that i could not possibly say NO to & is the kinda project that is & forever will be a career highlight & totally surreal. When I tell you more you will understand the surreal-ness!

Until next time!

Project happenings

Tuesday, November 27th, 2012

A couple of weeks ago I had the great pleasure of working with the very lovely chick & super excellent photographer Martina Gemmola. We shot a project that I have previously shared with you  here & then a little more here. And because I’m a caring sharing lass (sometimes with an over-sharing tendency -truth be told!)  Im going to share even more of it!

So checks it out!

Thank you Martina! You were such a pleasure & great fun to work with!!

I will be back here soon to share some of my recent happenings – loads to share! (this is a note to self more than anything else!)

So pretty in pink

Thursday, August 9th, 2012

Almost a year ago I posted here about a hot pink velvet chair I really really really wanted to do for a project I was working on as it was just perfect for the project – perfect I tells you! It didn’t look like it was going to happen due to boring things in life like budgets (yawn!), but then…the clouds parted, the sun shone through & here tis!  A very lucky little little lass (as in a 4 year old little lass!) has a very pretty chair in her beautiful room!  Its as good as I knew it would be & it makes me happy!

Just to clarify, it also makes the baby mamma happy  and the little lass whose room it is also was quite excited by it…perhaps not as much as a new kitten or battery operated something would’ve – she is only 4, & 4 year olds generally dont get as antz pantz excited as someone like me does about furniture!

In the same room the bedhead was also something I was eagerly waiting on! So in the spirit of sharing, have a looksee: beautiful chocolatey linen with feature buttons in pink & white stripe for just a lil bit of sumpin sumpin! & the cushions are bit of  eye candy too!

So thats todays deliveries for your perusal! I will be back soon to share lots of other exciting things that have been happening over in my part of the world!

But  thats enough about me – whats been happening with you?!
