Reality design TV shows have made me cringe at the words ‘wow factor‘. When I hear it used  my face automatically contorts to look like I’ve just sucked on a lemon.

Just saying. I’m a sharer.

Anyway, that aside: this room makes me happy.

The green curtains are whats doing it for me. Contrast with the deep grey walls it makes me make an audible sigh that I don’t know the right word for, but its my ‘happy eye candy noise!’

I’m not entirely convinced about the chandelier though.

But I would like to sit in those chairs & snack on what looks like the largest bowl of salad I’ve ever seen!

Today is my big sisters birthday and to celebrate the occasion- I got me my favorite annual design book!

How sweet am I?!!!

Not just any book you see, its the Andrew Martin Interior Design review -featuring 460 pages of eye popping interior design deliciousness and inspiration.

Referred to around the global traps as ‘the Oscars for the design industry’. I wont dispute.

Its only available in my town for a very short time- once a year, in limited numbers and only from one supplier – I gotta get my hands on it & quick sticks!

and my hands upon I did!

Measuring at nearly 5cm or 2 inches thick -its a no go/too hard for scanning to share the goodness…but rather than totally withholding the oodles of eye candy within, I have taken a couple of crappy snaps to share the love and that will have to do your curiosity until I get around to looking up the websites of the designers featured and showing you some goodies that way.

You were warned in advance – so no petty tut tutting at the quality of  following pictures!!

Tomorrow is my super cute, but not so cute tanties niece’s 4th birthday! Her present is a plum tree.

for real!

She has more than enough toys to play with or not, so fella and I decided to encourage her nature spirit by giving her her very own tree to nurture and look after!

Aw, all just so pretty!

After some serious moments I need me some more pretty to look at.

I spied this fabulousness over at Simply Grove and new it was an image I would be happy to look at over and over. Ahh. 

Last year I did just a day course of basket weaving with my lovely mumma, we both came away with a small curl-less than a palm size of wool and dried grass…nothing on these gorgeousies! Makes me appreciate the workmanship in each one that much more.

Looking at it again – its either a HUGE wall, or a tiny chaise!?!

“Tis the season to be jolly” Hmm, apparently.

Fa la la la laaaa – um, Ok? 

Anyway, this is as Christmasy as I’m going to get here at Designalogue Blog: 

I just spotted at my local nursery whilst I was browsing for garden stuff , this fabulous silver birch branch Christmas tree! 

If i had me somewhere to store this lil number for the 340ish days that it would not be required as centre stage, then I would get me one toot sweet! Alas, I do not. So it will not be…

I am a little obsessed with these lacquered numbers! I want them SO bad and I am in the early stages of hatching a plan to get my hands on em!!

I have NO idea what the quality is like – and if in fact they ARE worthy of my obsession - but its a wooden box, its red , its lacquered = the odds look good!!

The problem is, they are from Crate and Barrel – a store we don’t have that store here in Australia so getting my hands on them will be a lil trixty and take a bit of sweet talking on my part! The current exchange rate isn’t in my favor – so is it even worth it? Its a risk to take when its only one studio pic I have seen.  Are they worthy of my love?

I really only even know of Crate and Barrel through the blogosphere and by it featuring once in an episode of ‘Friends’: Rachel had bought a coffee table and was pretending to Phoebe that she bought it from a flea market. OH I’m sure you can imagine the hilarity that followed! (um – recently watched re runs!!)

I was wonder what it IS that differentiates a a powder room from a bathroom?  (oh yeah – just another of the BIG questions!) So I looked to the inter-web to find me the answer!

It was Yahoo Answers who were kind enough to offer up the word! Simply, its a small room with toot and basin.  Kinda knew it would be. But now I Know!  

So I went on the look-see in the inter-web world for a lill bit of powder pretty:
