Mr Wilkinson’s Favourite Vegetables

Tuesday, March 13th, 2012

Here in my part of the world -Melbourne town, the foods & wine festival is a happening or, maybe just happened?!  Foodie peoples get very excited by this. Just to be clear, I am no foodie.  I can cook – and even make food both edible AND tasty! But I’m no fancy pants cook nor have a real desire to be. To be honest the only time I’m dine in linen clothed restaurants its on someone else’s dime! Its just not my thang to drop a few hundy & then some on a meal. Sure its tasty, but I’m not going to appreciate it enough to drop my precious coin on it. I’d rather spend it on my furniture fetish -something house pretty that I can love long time. (psst, I reserve the right to change my mind about this at any time!)

Geez I can ramble on… So to the point of this post!:

Local chef Matt Wilkinson has released a beauitful new cook book titled: Mr Wilkinson’s Favourite Vegetables. I think from the title you can guess its about cooking with vegetables!

Its been photographed by one of my favourite ladies Jacqui Melville & chock full of tasty eye candy & belly goodness!

The photographs & styling are amazing. Its truly beautiful so chops goes to Caroline Velik for an amazing styling job done!

Im sure its all tasty too!

YUM!

YUM!!  (think I need some lunch!)

Here is a pic of the fabulous Jacqui hard at work shooting my bathroom for my website!

Oh & re this bathroom project, I have some VERY exciting news to share about this very soon!!

Obsession Confession: Still dreaming of that genie

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

I have written before about my love for glass genie bottles in an obsession confession (see here)

Its a continued and long loving obsession of mine, so imagine my delight when I came across some more genie bottle eye candy for me to drool over!

It was like the clouds parted I tell you!!

By the way, in my collection of many, I’m still yet to come across a genie, so no wishes have been granted.

I am quite sulky about this!

And now back to the pretty…

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

After some serious moments I need me some more pretty to look at.

I spied this fabulousness over at Simply Grove and new it was an image I would be happy to look at over and over. Ahh.

Last year I did just a day course of basket weaving with my lovely mumma, we both came away with a small curl-less than a palm size of wool and dried grass…nothing on these gorgeousies! Makes me appreciate the workmanship in each one that much more.

Looking at it again – its either a HUGE wall, or a tiny chaise!?!

And they’re off…

So I’m STILL on the Spring carnival band wagon… turns out I may a little enthusiasm for it after all!

The big race is tomorrow, the one that its all about-’The Melbourne Cup’ – the race that stops a nation! -so they say! (Oh, did I mention Its even a public holiday!)

Of course its as much, well probably more so, about the ‘fillies’ in frocks than the ‘fillies’ on the field! But all I am interested in and scour the papers to see a glimpse of, are the corporate marquees. Big brand companies go ALL out in budget and fluff to create a super space of fabulousness!

Very often in the really fabulous marquees, the creative genius behind the design and implementation is clever lass Amanda Henderson, of Gloss Creative. She is a bit clever!

Check out a few pics from last years carnival -so you know what I am on about!:

Kinda heart breaking to think that these incredible spaces only exist for a few days…a bit sad really!

I was unable to find any images of this years fancey pants marquees, but I will keep you in the loop when I do!

So you have quite possibly seen all these pictures before -so apologies for hacking them out once again! But I would feel like a home town traitor if I didn’t spread the word!!

And so of course it has to be said, whilst we are here in lovely Melbourne town, where some horses are running around fast,  A far more important race is nearing a close on the other side of the globe in the US.

So just a shout out to my blogger friends in the states: Please do me proud and vote right!

And by ‘right’ of course I mean left!!

Fruity Goodness

Monday, August 11th, 2008

When I am looking at designers and stylists portfolios, I always love looking at the bits and pieces they use to style up the shot!

My favorite accessory is fruit! An instant shot of freshness!
