Still some finishing details for this project to come -I have custom designed a rug for the living room (can not wait to see it!) and some cool furniture for the entrance too. Its been an exciting project to be involved with as its such a unique space.

Kudos to the architect on this project Robert Miles who designed really great bones for this space. I’d like to think our interior designs & finish choices have enhanced his original vision!

Bold happenings

Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

Well hello once again! or, welcome if this is your first time in this particular blogs hood!

Thought I would share a couple of  pictures of a recent project that I had photographed.  Its a music room for a young family & as you can see they aren’t afraid of living with colour!

Look-see at the handblown glass pendant light we had made for the project:

So there you have it! It was such a pleasure to work on this project! My clients (the loveliest people you could meet) had an idea of what they wanted for the space which was bold & colourful.  I dont think you can say its not either of those!

Thank you once again to the fabulous Martina Gemmola for beautiful photos!

See you back here soon! I have some INCREDIBLE news to share soon of a project I have been working on – its the kind of project that i could not possibly say NO to & is the kinda project that is & forever will be a career highlight & totally surreal. When I tell you more you will understand the surreal-ness!

Until next time!

Predictions

Remember these?:

& these:

Quite possibly thats why you are here in the first place! (the traffic I get to this blog still from when I posted about these back in June 2010 is huge!)

Well the UK-ian hottie responsible for such clever up-cycling has just launched his new of lighting which includes these crystal globes.

So pretty.

And these too

I predict a Pintrest Melt down!

And before you ask:

No, I dont know how to get the bottoms off or how to get the globes in. I leave it to the people who do!

Lee Broom is the dude in the know!

Enjoy!

As it was, and so it is

With my long absences from Designalogue, I kinda feel the need to prove that I am indeed keeping busy and not just ignoring the blogosphere.

So here is the proof. Some before and after pictures of recent projects:

um. In case you are wondering – This most certainly is a before shot.

And then after:

Bedroom before:

And yes. that IS a poem on the wall. (no apology from me for the blurryness of the picture -something about poems on walls gives me the shakes!)

Bedroom After:

The bedroom chandelier is a pretty special peice made from walnut and brass and uncovered in a marked in Italy by the clever Nicholas & Alistair

Now I’m on the blogging roll….onto another project:

A large living room that was quite open to the street and barren of furniture and personality:

(oh the red thing is not a vase or decoration…thats my handbag!)

And after….

That’s all from me for now. But I will be back tomorrow to share something else I’m quite excited about!

Crystal clever

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

I just spied this over at HD Inspirations Blog and felt the need to on share the cleverness:  Real crystal decanters used  as pendant lighting at the Conquine Bar in London.

Just goes to show pretty much anything can be made into an awesome light fitting!

When the lights go out

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Where ever you live on the planet earth, at 8.30pm this Saturday it is Earth Hour.

So in preparation for an hour with the lights out, its candle time! What be more appropriate than this gorgeousie light globe candle from Queen B candles!

(Oh, and And just so you know it is even more perfect as its a non toxic emitting candle made from beeswax not paraffin like most other candles available – loving the Queen B candles!)

And the teacup candles are a bit special too!

I want me some!

Moving on and slacking off.

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Its been very quiet here at Designalogue Blog of late. Ive been quite preoccupied with end of year clienty things as well as packing up and moving house and office.

So I’m taking a quick break – ok, I’m slacking off, from hauling boxes from one place to another as I need me a quick look at some pretty!

These super cute ‘tea lights’ from Melbourne artist Gregory Bonasera will do the trick!

I think these tea cup lights are super cute and I love the idea of using Nana’s precious tea cups as a chandy! I’m hoping to use them in a project coming up in the new year – so we will see!

More info on Gregory Bonasera here.

Well, back to shuffling boxes for me! I will be back and posting soon from my fabulous new office!

And the winner is…

The glamA continues…

I have finally managed to find me some pictures of this years Spring Carnival fancy pants marquees.

(Seems all it took was to look in the newspaper! whatta know!)

So this will give you an idea of the scale of these um, tents!

You thought it was a bit small didnt you! No, it fits a few!

This colour scheme and sofa push my ‘special’ buttons. For real.

I would like a light fitting like this in my house please.  Complete with weekly florist visits to ‘freshen’!

Oh. I hope this looks better in person. I hate those chairs. They speak Nana’s nursing home to me!

Doesn’t have the same overall awesomeness feel as last years displays-maybe its the photos? Maybe the budget got reined in? (yeah, pun intended!)

The race has just been run and the winner is ‘Viewed’ by seriously a slither of a horses whisker! it was quite exciting really!

A little light on the subject

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

I think I might start petitioning my landlord to install a swimming pool in my back garden – purely so I can have these uber cool floating lights by Spanish groovies Metalarte.

I don’t think that would be extravagant or over the top in the slightest!!!?!
