Fishy Business

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

I am loving the ‘fishy’ trend that is making an appearance in the interiors and home wares world!

I find the fluidity of the fish form to be relaxing and calming to look at. OK, with exception of the scary sword type fish on pic 3 & 4!

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

A friend of mine the lovely Miss V, recently told me about a company in NYC that specialises in original wallpapers including vintage & rare papers.

As i have a bit of a predisposition for hoarding of goodies! I can only imagine what fun I could get up to here! Hmm…Maybe I will think twice before visitng when next in NYC!

Below are some of the designs I wouldnt mind including in my collection of stuff!!

Sculptural Artist -Johneen Wood

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

I have to share some images of the work of my favorite sculptural artist ‘Johneen Wood’.

I have recently used one of her sculptures in an entrance to an apartment I am working on as pictured below. (bad pic, I know -but gives you an idea!) Standing at 70cm high, its a fabulous piece to be welcomed home by!

I’m not sure the pictures do enough justice to the her work. They are so detailed and intricate and incorporate some really interesting techniques and I’m such a fan!

One of these days, Im gonna get one for me!!

The Cars That Ate Paris

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Actually this has absolutely nothing to do with the classic Peter Weir film ‘The Cars That Ate Paris’ except for that there ARE cars in my story AND it featured in Paris -but that’s the end of the similarities! (And I suppose its not really a story either, but no need to get all nit-picky!!)

Anyway…

Whilst on a fleeting visit to Paris a few years back. The ‘fella’ and I came across a little exhibition of cars – unsure of why exactly but they were all cool in some way! I was particularly taken by this little smart car totally covered in a classic toile pattern! I wonder why we haven’t seen this come through to mainstream? Surely it wouldn’t be anything to do with the seats and safety etc?

Whatever, I’d drive it!
